Measuring the pH Value of Meat5.00 out of 50 based on 2 voters.

The pH value of meat provides evidence as to:

1. How long it will keep

2. Technical processing characteristics

The flesh of animals prior to slaughter has a pH value of 7.1. After slaughtering, some of the glycogen in the meat turns into lactic acid. As a result, the pH value is lowered. The increasing acidity of the maturing carcass varies in its speed, depending on a number of factors such as type of animal, breed, rearing characteristics, and treatment of the animal prior to slaughter.

Measuring pH in Wine-Making5.00 out of 50 based on 2 voters.

pH is a fundamental element of the wine-making industry. pH strongly influences wine properties such as color, oxidation, biological and chemical stability. A meter with up to 3-point pH calibration or a handheld meter with 5-point pH calibration are accurate and reliable tools for measuring pH levels in wine.
Measuring pH in Wine Production pH measures the quantity of acids present, the strength of the acids, and the effects of minerals and other ingredients in the wine. Wine pH depends on three main factors: the total amount of acid present, the ratio of malic acid to tartaric acid, and the amount of potassium present. Wines that contain little acid and excess potassium show high pH values. Wine with more tartaric acid, less malic acid, less potassium, and more titratable acid has lower pH values.

FPA 30 does not recommend venting of Safety Cabinets and advises users to leave vents plugged, unless required to vent by local fire authorities or other applicable laws or regulations. Justrite provides its Safety Cabinets with 2” NPT vent bungs for this purpose if venting is needed.

NFPA 30 advises that if you must vent a Safety Cabinet to the outside, it must be in a manner which does not compromise the safety performance of the Safety Cabinet. Below are noted some general guidelines for designing a Safety Cabinet vent system, but it is strongly advised that the user seek professional engineering advice as every venting situation and facility is unique, as well as applicable building and fire codes. Designing and installing a safe venting system should be done by professionals who understand all requirements.

From magnetic to variable-area to Coriolis, the options in volumetric-based flowmeters are plentiful. Yet there are distinct differences in functionality, accuracy, and certainly price. To select the best model for your specific use without overspending, here’s a guide:

Coriolis Snapshot:Extremely high accuracy and no pressure drop. The meters track mass flow and offer a very high turn-down ratio. Yet initial expense is high, clogging can occur, and meters are larger in overall size.

Coriolis meters offer true mass flow measurement through two designs: a single tube or two parallel tubes. They operate via
an oscillation which is induced in the tube(s) at a reference frequency. Based on Newton’s Second Law of Motion (F = m x a), the oscillation frequency will change with changes in mass flow rate.

From heating blocks to mantles to baths and circulators, the options for keeping samples heated (or cooled) are many. Within these categories, questions are also plentiful. Users ask our technical assistance team: which bath is big enough or fast enough to meet my needs? Will this device hold my samples at a specified temperature and length of time?

To provide an effective answer, the experts need to know key information. Here are specifics to consider:
